MIDNIGHT MAKES HIS MARK

During the 2025 English Greyhound Derby at Towcester, Faypoint Susie became something of a social media star in greyhound racing circles.

While the hugely talented daughter of Out Of Range and Jasons Perl was still performing at a high level on the track in the early rounds of the classic, her only pup was earning himself a legion of fans due to his presence on the Riverside Kennels social channels.

An all-black puppy, the world met ‘Midnight’ in a series of posts. One particular post titled “then and now” featured a very small Midnight chewing on his mum’s tail before a video of Faypoint Susie winning in the opening round at Towcester.

Fast forward over a year and it seems Midnight has inherited much of mum’s ability. Faypoint Midnight made his debut at Shelbourne Park on Tuesday night and duly emerged a good winner. Despite a moderate start, the son of Derby champion Newinn Taylor flew into the turn to go to the front.

Once doing so, he strode out well to win by four lengths in 28.60. It was a superb start to his career and hopefully he can go onto achieve great things in the sport.

His proud owners Chris and Patricia Flanagan certainly feel the same way. Indeed, Chris was quick to heap praise on all at the Riverside Kennels. Said Chris yesterday morning, “It was great to see Faypoint Midnite win his first race at Shelbourne last night in 28.60 A0 time.

“As he was the only pup in the litter we would like to thank Graham Holland and his family for the great job they did rearing this boy. Susie has just had a litter of six by Swords Rex. Hopefully, there could be more campions to come.”
